Signal Plastics - Washington

Shift Supervisor

Signal Plastics is recruiting a Shift Supervisor to join our team. You will be responsible for the management of your shift’s production resources and processes, ensuring the shift meets its KPIs.

We are looking for someone with experience of working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment (preferably within plastic injection moulding or the automotive sector), who has excellent people leadership qualities and a desire to contribute to continuous improvement. Experience of developing the skills of the workforce, a focus on delivering “right first time” production and working collaboratively with colleagues in Quality, NPI and Logistics functions are key to the success of this role.

The role will cover a 3-shift rotation over a 5-day working week. (Starting Sunday night shift)
We will pay between £31,500 and £34,500 a year based on working full time over a three shifts rotation (depending on qualifications, skills and experience). We offer 25 days annual leave (plus the usual bank holidays). Two weeks of this is usually taken during our summer shut-down period and we also usually shut down over Christmas. We also offer a number of benefits including company pension scheme, life insurance (2x salary), Employee Assistance Program, Cycle to Work scheme, free hot drinks and more.

Omega Plastics Group – covers Washington and Team Valley

Maintenance Technician

The Omega Plastics Group are recruiting a multi-skilled Maintenance Technician to support our maintenance activities across our facilities based in Gateshead and Washington.
The key responsibilities are:
• Reactive and planned machine maintenance - responding quickly to machinery breakdowns to ensure optimum production performance, minimising equipment downtime through a proactive approach to all continuous improvement strategies and supporting root cause analysis.
• Support the NPI process and function with maintenance-related information and activities to ensure a smooth introduction and handover of new products and manufacturing processes.
• Deliver activities in accordance with the site facilities plan.

We are looking for someone with an understanding of safe working policies and practices and a track record of working in a safety conscious manner at all times. Ideally you will be multi skilled but electrical bias and/or experience of maintaining injection moulding presses and CNC machinery is preferred. Have experience of front-line maintenance in a 24-hour working facility. Hold a recognised apprenticeship in an electrical or mechanical discipline and will possess an ONC, BTEC or NVQ Level 3 in relevant maintenance/engineering/electrical qualification. Have maintenance and fault-finding experience across a range of equipment including injection moulding and CNC machines.

The role comes with a salary of between £33,000 and £36,000 per year (depending on qualifications, skills and experience).

You will follow standard operations to ensure the products we make are manufactured or assembled within the allotted cycle time, conform to specification and are packed off in line with the packaging specification and with the required quality standards.

Signal Plastics - Washington

Warehouse Operator

We are recruiting a Warehouse Operative to join our Warehouse and Logistics Team, which is committed to providing exceptional service to our customers and colleagues.

This is a full-time, permanent role with an immediate start directly employed by us, based at our site on Bentall Business Park in Washington.

Pay is £11.40 per hour for day shift (37.5 hours per week). Shifts are on a 3 shift rotation pattern of days, backs and nights. You will receive shift allowance increases for back shift and night shift.

There will occasionally be overtime and we ask for flexibility in being available for this. Overtime is paid at 1.5 x normal rate for the shift.
